Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account, purchasing a Monthly Plan, purchasing Top-Up Credits, uploading documents, or using LUCY, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

The Service
LUCY provides document translation services. Translation output may include formatting improvements depending on the file you submit and your instructions.

Definitions
“Page” means one page in your uploaded file (PDF/DOC). For scanned documents/images, each image counts as one page.
“Order” means one translation submission/upload.
“Monthly Plan” means a subscription plan purchased for one billing month.
“Monthly Credits” means the monthly plan balance you can spend within that month.
“Top-Up Credits” means credits you buy separately from a Monthly Plan.

Pricing & Charges
4.1 Free Trial
New accounts receive a one-time Free Trial of 5 pages. We may limit free trials to prevent abuse (for example, multiple accounts created for repeated trials).
4.2 Monthly Plans (Subscriber Rate)
If you have an active Monthly Plan, translation is charged at:
35 birr per page
4.3 Top-Up Credits (Top-Up Rate)
Top-Up Credits are charged at:
50 birr per page

Payment & Automated Verification
After you make payment, you upload proof of payment (such as a screenshot/receipt).
Our system verifies the payment and notifies you when your Monthly Plan or credits are applied.
If verification fails or the proof is unclear, we may request that you re-upload proof or contact support.

Credit Rules and Expiry
6.1 Monthly Credits Expire Monthly
Monthly Credits apply only within your billing month. Unused Monthly Credits expire at the end of each billing month and do not roll over.
6.2 Top-Up Credits Validity
Top-Up Credits are valid for [12 months] from the date they are added to your account (unless we state a different validity period at the time of purchase). After expiry, unused Top-Up Credits are forfeited.

Refund Policy (Backend/System Issue)
Because translation is a digital service, refunds are limited.
7.1 When we refund
If there is a verified issue caused by our backend/system (for example: service outage, failure to deliver output, incorrect processing or charging caused by our system), we will do one or more of the following:
Reprocess the affected order at no additional cost, and/or
Restore the credits used for the affected order, and/or
Refund the affected amount (full or partial), depending on the impact.
7.2 When we generally do not refund
Refunds are generally not provided for:
User error (wrong file uploaded, wrong language selected, wrong instructions provided)
Change of mind after successful delivery
Issues caused by unreadable/low-quality scans where accurate translation is not feasible (unless clearly our fault)
To request a refund review, contact [SUPPORT EMAIL] with your account email and the order details.

Delivery, Output, and Corrections
Delivery time depends on file length, complexity, and file quality.
If you want a specific output format/template, provide instructions before submitting your order.

User Responsibilities
You agree that:

You will not upload illegal content or content that violates others’ rights.
You will not attempt to abuse free trials, payment verification, or credits.

Acceptable Use
You must not use LUCY to:
Violate any law
Upload content you do not have rights to use
Attempt fraud, exploit verification, or access the service unlawfully
We may suspend or terminate access for violations.

Ownership
You own the documents you upload and the translated output delivered to you.
We own the LUCY platform, software, and related technology.

Privacy
Your use of LUCY is also governed by our Privacy Policy (published separately).

Disclaimer
LUCY is provided “as is.” While we aim for high-quality translation, we do not guarantee the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.

Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent allowed:
We are not responsible for indirect or consequential losses.
Our total liability for claims related to LUCY is limited to the amount you paid in the last 30 days before the issue happened.

Changes to the Service or Terms
We may update the service and these Terms from time to time. If changes are significant, we will post an updated version on our website.

Termination
We may suspend or terminate accounts for fraud, abuse, or violations of these Terms. You may stop using the service at any time.
